Asylum Artist Quarter CIC  ‘The Quarter’

Asylum Artist Quarter CIC, represented and affiliated with Asylum Art Gallery LTD, who oversee the programs and spaces Asylum Art Gallery and Asylum Artist Studios, are pleased to open a further venue ‘The Quarter’.

The Quarter will be a provide the city with a commercial gallery and events space for contemporary art and performance.

Comprising of a commercial art gallery, space for sales and exhibitions, a meeting place for collaborative discussions and workshops, and an events space and bar which will be available for community hire for music, poetry and performance. It also houses two further floors with large studio spaces that are home to a collective of artists working across multiple disciplines.

The public can join as members and enjoy the facilities across all of our affiliated spaces, the team prioritising their career progression and portfolio development.

Our Membership scheme

Tier 1 | £10pm

  • Sell your artwork in the commercial gallery at only 5% commission to cover our admin.

  • Book the events space to use with no cost to run events, meetings or workshops.

  • Hot desk and use all of our facilities across the three sites during opening hours.

  • You can request a free solo show in the Asylum Gallery exhibition space or the commercial gallery. *subject to availability*

  • You will also be advertised as a partner on our site and all of your services promoted through our channels.

  • Your progression and mentoring will be prioritised and you can book mentoring sessions for free with the team.

  • You are also guaranteed a space in group shows and be able to attend all events and workshops for free.

Tier 3 | £25pm 

  • Tier 2 + storage facilities for your artwork.

*We do not sign artists to exclusive contracts and you are free to show and sell your artwork with other organisations*

The space is overseen by a collective of creatives for local creatives to meet, collaborate and thrive. A contemporary arts hub in the centre of the city, where artist led projects take priority and contribute to the regeneration of the high street and its local community. We encourage partnerships and collectives to create together and work to bridge the gap between creatives and institutions by promoting public facing projects and artwork.
