About the event

Perspectives - Fae Kilburn 12th March – 10th April Apart of the @creativeblackcountry @dashdisabilityarts #OFFSITE9 commissions Open | Thurs – Sat | 11am – 4pm Opening event – 12th March – 7pm – 9pm The Quarter 3 school street Wolverhampton WV1 4LF Fae Kilburn Is a Midlands based artist and arts facilitator, specialising in printmaking. She has a particular interest in making art accessible to all audiences and Is constantly seeking out innovative ways to achieve this. A large part of her practice is the relationship with materials and tactile nature of the different processes. Fae actively encourages people to physically engage and connect with her work.  She often includes or refers to the lived experiences of other disabled people and this becomes a collaboration of their narrative and her artwork.  Perspectives will be an exhibition that incorporates this process and explores the experiences and barriers faced by individuals who identify as D/deaf, disabled, Neurodiverse or who have faced significant barriers. Fae aims to raise awareness, challenge preconceived ideas and  highlight the stigma faced by many.  Creating disability awareness through art is an important part of her practice. As is making her workshops and participatory events accessible and inclusive.  Fae has exhibited regularly in the UK, and with thanks to grants from Arts Council England and the Emergence Bursary Programme worked internationally where she was artist in residence in Canada, this led to further residencies and exhibitions. She enjoys opportunities to collaborate with other artists and organisations. In summary Fae wants her work to be as unique as the individuals that continue to inspire her. https://www.faekilburn.co.uk  Instagram @FaeKilburn
